Frequently Asked Questions
1.What is fitness camp?
Fitness camp is an outdoor fitness program designed to challenge your mind, body and spirit in an effort to help you reach your fitness goals. It is six weeks of fitness sessions, nutritional counselling and motivational training. Camp meets 3 or 5 days per week for one hour sessions.

2.What sets us apart from the other fitness camps out there?
We offer small group fitness classes with lots of personal attention. Groups are supportive and non-competitive to help everyone reach their individual goals. Sessions are outdoors to gain the benefits of fresh air and to help revitalize your spirit. Music is used to motivate and inspire you to the next level. Real Me personal trainers are real people who are experienced and can help achieve your potential.
3.Where and when is camp held?
Real Me Fitness Camps are held at Rotary Park. Camp is held outside unless there are extreme weather conditions (tornado, extreme lightning, floods, extreme cold, etc)
4.Do you offer childcare?
YES! Our 9:30 am fitness camp has a childcare option. Childcare at the park is provided for an additional $90 per 6 week session. That works out to $5 per workout. No more excuses.
5.Who should sign up?
Fitness camp is for all ages and abilities. Workouts are geared to accommodate everybody. If you are looking to workout in a small group setting, laugh and have fun while achieving your goals then you have come to the right place. All you need is a desire to be the best you can be.
6.What if I am not physically fit right now?
Don’t worry, that’s why you are signing up for fitness camp. Personal trainers are there to motivate you and help you reach your goals in a secure and fun environment. Nobody will be left behind or be asked to do more than they are capable of doing safely. Nor will you go home unchallenged. You will be inspired daily to challenge yourself and reach the next level of fitness.
7.What if I am fit already?
As mentioned fitness camp is for everyone. Our workouts can be challenging for both beginners and experts alike. Variety is important for attaining the next fitness level.
8.How long will it be before I get results?
Performance and fitness level improvements begin quickly. You should feel a difference after only a few workouts. Visual changes, however, usually take longer, 2 – 6 weeks. Changes in body composition are dependent on how much you put into your workout and what you do when you are not in fitness camp.
9.Is it hard work?
It’s all in how you look at it. Changes in body composition and mental well-being do not come without some effort. We expect you to do your best and encourage you to stay focused on your individual goals. Our trainers are there to help you with this process and keep your goals a priority.
10.A session has already begun, can I join in?
Yes, you can join at any time. Activities can be modified to suit anyone at any time in the session. Your fitness camp fees will be pro-rated depending on how many sessions remain in the camp.
11.How much does it cost?
Each six week fitness camp is offered for 3 or 5 days per week. The 3 day option is $275.00 Cdn and the 5 day/week option costs $399.00 Cdn. At those prices you are working out for $13 - $15 per hour. Where else are you going to get personal attention from trained personal trainers for that price? On top of the hour of instruction you get a body fat analysis before and after camp, a fitness camp manual packed with information, and nutritional counselling.
12.How do I pay?
Currently cash or cheque is the only method of payment. Cheques can be made payable to Real Me Personal Development. Payment is due at time of registration to secure your spot in camp.
13.Is there a refund policy?
If you are unable to attend fitness camp we can offer you a refund if you give us 5 business days notice prior to your camp start date. There will, however, be a $100.00 cancellation fee applied. It may take up to 5 business days to process a refund. If we are notified after this point there will be NO refunds or credits issued.
14.What type of information is collected? Who is it shared with?
Real Me respects your privacy. Due to the nature of our services, it is necessary to collect certain personal information from Clients. All information collected is treated as STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL, and Real Me will not share or redistribute your information with any third party except as necessary to provide services purchased by the Client, or as required by law. Any information gathered from a Client is simply for our records and, if applicable, necessary to provide the services to the Client for which we have been contracted.
15.What if the weather is bad?
Fitness camp meets rain or shine. Dress appropriately. Unless the weather is dangerous (extreme lightning, extreme cold, tornado, flood, etc) we will meet at the camps designated location. In the event of extreme weather conditions fitness camp will be held at an alternate location.
16.What if I can't make it one day?
All qualifying missed sessions will result in a credit being given which can be applied to another session within the same period of your assigned fitness camp (6 week program) and may be claimed at the same or another location on an alternate day.
17.What do I need to bring?
You will need some light hand weights (5 – 10 lbs), a water bottle, an exercise mat and lots of enthusiasm. Please bring as little else as possible with you to class and only things you are able to carry with you or leave on the ground unattended during the session.
18.What should I wear to class?
Dress in layers. Several thin layers are warmer than one heavy layer. Layers are also easier to add or remove and thus, better regulate your core temperature. The goal is to keep the body warm and minimize sweating and avoid shivering. If you wear a moisture-wicking shirt as your first layer, you will be a lot more comfortable.
19.What kind of shoes should I wear?
Your shoes should be a well fitted pair of good running shoes or cross trainers. As appropriate pair of shoes will help protect your ankles, shins, knees and back from injury.
20.I am sore, is this normal?
If your body is not accustomed to working out on a regular basis, then fitness camp will be a bit of a shock to your system and can result in some muscle stiffness. Make sure you arrive to camp on time in order to properly warm up and prepare your muscles for work. An additional 10 minutes of stretching a day can also help relieve some of the muscle tightness you may experience. For some people, the pain can be caused by prior injuries, weak muscles surrounding joints/tendons or genetics. Make sure you inform your trainer of any such condition so that we can modify your program to keep you healthy and active.
