Arnold Press

May 9, 2009 by alison

This move is another variation on traditional shoulder presses, hitting your front and middle deltoids as well as the smaller interior muscles of the rotator cuff.
Sit on the edge of a bench and hold a pair of dumbbells at shoulder level with your palms facing your body and your elbows tucked into your sides. As you move your arms out to the sides, press the weights overhead, and as you extend your arms, simultaneously twist your wrists and arms so that at the top of the move, your palms are facing away from you, arms straight. Reverse the move to return to the starting position.
